Some people of Bandorban gave proposal to the government to make a sanctuary for elephants. Shelim Chowdhuary gives some proposed to make a sanctuary and to demurrage to the people who are affected by elephants. He mentioned 2 points
Ø To make sanctuary for elephants: Bangladesh government has 5760 acres reserve forest in Bandorban. If the government uses this area as a sanctuary, then the elephant problem will be solved. The government needs only strong desire to make this sanctuary.
Ø As we know Bangladesh is a developing country. Bandorban is a very remote place in Bangladesh. Most of the people in this area earn money by cultivating crops. When elephants stop their earning by destroying crops, then it becomes difficult for them to maintain their family. Sometimes the main earning person of a family gets killed by elephants. As a result life becomes difficult for the other members of the family. If the government of Bangladesh gives money to the affected family then their misery can be lessen at least.
